If you enjoy observing the marine animals you might be interested in having further information which will allow you not only see them, but also identifying the species and knowing about their special characteristics and skills. The AWARE Fish Identification Specialty course provides you with the fish identification basics.
So you’re diving and, after surfacing, have to ask your buddy or instructor the question what beautiful underwater creatures you have just encountered. That’s why PADI created the AWARE – Fish Identification Specialty course. PADI courses are designed to help you learn in the way that’s best for you. To give you answers to questions you never have to ask again.
It’s just so much more fun to familiarize with characteristics that help you identify fish. Our courses combine visual, reading, writing and practical learning techniques to ensure you really understand each section.
If you’re at least 10 years old and a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, you can enroll in the AWARE – Fish Identification course.
When you have mastered to recognize what types of fish you see, you’ll find it easier to reference the exact species after a scuba dive. A butterfly fish in the Caribbean has a similar shape to a butterfly fish in the Red Sea, but colors and markings may be significantly. If you know what fish family it belongs to, it makes it easier to locate the local name or at least be able to intelligently ask the local scuba instructor what you saw.
During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to identify characteristics of local fish families and species. You will be able to detect fish survey techniques and strategies. You will get familiar with Project AWARE activities that can help protecting aquatic life.
You can get started by press book now and specify when would you like to start your course with Advenius Divers. Once you do that your instructor from Advenius Divers would provide you with the learning materials to get started gaining the necessary knowledge.
