Natural navigation requires you to use the physical contours and characteristics of the dive site to guide your way out and then find your way back, and learning to combine natural navigation with basic compass skills practically ensures you’ll never get lost underwater.

After having finished the course you will have considerably improved your underwater navigation skills. You appreciate methods to estimate distance underwater and the skills of underwater map making.

How to Qualify to PADI Underwater Navigator Course Dahab

Any PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 10 years old may enroll in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course.

Course Program

We teach you how to practice and master navigation patterns, natural navigation, and compass navigation. In essence, you will be taught underwater navigation using natural clues and by following compass headings. You will practice methods to estimate distance underwater and mark or relocate a submerged object or position from the surface.

After finishing the course you will feel more comfortable underwater and have acquired the tools, skills, and knowledge to act as an underwater navigator.

Apart from your basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a compass and underwater slate. Our PADI instructor may suggest other gear to help you stay oriented. Here you must think of Lines and reels and marker buoys.
