You don’t mind being a role model under water. People like to put their trust in you because you are a keen observator. You’re a natural born navigator.

The PADI Underwater Navigator course is designed to fine-tune your observation skills. It teaches you to use your compass underwater in a more effective way.  Natural navigation requires you to use the physical contours and characteristics of the dive site to guide your way out and then find your way back, and learning to combine natural navigation with basic compass skills practically ensures you’ll never get lost underwater.

After having finished the course you will have considerably improved your underwater navigation skills. You appreciate methods to estimate distance underwater and the skills of underwater map making.

You will learn to be vigilant watching your clock, checking your compass, picking a path, looking for landmarks, watching water movements, etc.

PADI Underwater Navigator Course. This is how you qualify.

Any PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 10 years old may enroll in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course.

PADI Underwater Navigator Course. This is what you will learn.

We teach you how to practice and master navigation patterns, natural navigation and compass navigation. In essence, you will be taught  underwater navigation using natural clues and by following compass headings. You will practice methods to estimate distance underwater and marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface.

After finishing the course you will feel more comfortable underwater and have acquired the tools, skills and knowledgeto act as an underwater navigator.
